Failure, Todd Hollis has learned, is something we all struggle with

Failure, Todd Hollis has learned, is something we all struggle with. But keeping an open heart and turning failure into a positive experience is the key to real success.

After failing out of high school his junior year, Hollis couldn’t see a future for himself. Judith, Hollis’ mother, encouraged him to keep trying and to always do his best. So he decided that he wouldn’t let his mother be satisfied with him until he had done the best he could. Hollis decided to keep trying and to become a winner.

He went back to school and kept trying. He graduated from Duquesne University with a major in finance and a big dream. He had decided to take on Wall Street and become a stock broker. But Hollis quickly learned that Wall Street wasn’t for him. Although he worked day and night, Hollis couldn’t seem to find his niche on Wall Street. But after earning his own money for the first time, Hollis had a taste of success, and wasn’t going to give up.

So Hollis went back to school and got his law degree. Now, he owns his own criminal law practice, and has begun the Messiah project, a project where he offers his services to disadvantaged youths that can’t afford his services. All he asks for in exchange is that they pay it forward with volunteer work in the community. That first feeling of success that Hollis felt on Wall Street is what he’d like to give every juvenile that comes through his practice.
